Talk Back - Voices from the ether...

Unfortunately, joe [See below] is wrong. to argue that Halliburten "didn't get the oil, they only got the rebuilding contract" is a little bit disingenuous, and, well, just plain wrong. Halliburten may have the "rebuilding" contracts, but what, Joe, are they rebuilding? the oil refineries, pumps, pipelines, storage facilities, etc. Their subsidiaries, including Kellogg, Brown & Root, and Boots & Coots have their hands fully enmeshed in the oil as well. Because they operate in just about every single facet of the petrochemical industry, you can't hardly have an oilfield operation in this situation without having Halliburten intimately involved: after all...lots of the equipment that Saddam Hussein bought was purchased from Dick Cheney via Halliburten's French subsidiaries so as to skirt the sanctions during the 1990s. Good try Joe, but not so much."
